Scholars of City Councilor Ed Leyson IV for SY 2012-2013

Farmer FIeld School Rice Program Graduation Ceremony

The Department of Agriculture in collaboration of Agri-Pinoy, KASAKALIKASAN and City Agriculture Office of GenSan the Season Long Farmer Field School on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Rice Program has finally commenced last October 26, 2012 at the Baluan National High School, General Santos City.







At the farmer field school, student-farmers were trained and taught different farming skills and knowledge such as soil fertility, seed saving, water and weed management.

City councilor Eduardo D. Leyson IV who is the chairperson on Committee on Food and Agriculture congratulated the student-farmers wherein majority are youth. The councilor urged everyone to help the government in rice production self-sufficiency at the same time increase the income of local farmers.

Ed Leyson IV speaks at PNP Human Rights Seminar

PNP Personnel in General Santos City attended the Human Rights Seminar held at the Conference Room, General Santos City Police Office at Camp Fermin Lira last October 22-23, 2012 with Hon. Eduardo D. Leyson IV as guest speaker.




The General Santos City Police Office continuously aims to promote respect, unity and discipline in enforcing the law in the city. This is for the reason that the GSCPO Personnel facilitated a two-day seminar on human rights to refresh the learnings and gain additional knowledge from resource speakers.

















City Councilor Eduardo D. Leyson IV talked about the basics standards of political rights as well as the categories of human rights. He urged the PNP Personnel who participated the 2-day seminar to love their work as police men and women, serve the city with sincerity and honesty.

He then reminded everyone to respect the lives and rights of every individual they encounter everyday. He also added to observe human rights at all times.
















City Councilor Ed Leyson IV added an appeal to the participants to continue to stand in the fight to preserve human rights not only to the GENERALS but also for the Filipino people.

Last October 19, 2012 the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 12 had a turn over and blessing ceremony of one unit Village Type Corn on Cob Dryer to farm growers of Purok Cabuay, Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City.

The farmers where challenged to use the facility with care and continuously maintain it in order to provide development to farmers profit and satisfaction.








The DA with the support of the Local Government of General Santos City hopes that it could help the government's program on food staple sufficiency as well as the income growth and progress of the farmers.

For the farmer-growers of Barangay Sinawal, it is really a big help and a dream come true because it will help solve their problems regarding the production of quality corn seeds. The village type corn on cob dryer is not only for the farmers of Barangay Sinawal but it will also cater nearby barangays within the city of General Santos.

More or less 400 benefit from the social and health services spearheaded by a team of detailmen and salesmen with full support of the Leyson Family headed by City Councilor Eduardo D. Leyson IV on October 13, 2012 at the Corral, Nopol Hills, Purok Guadalupe, Barangay Conel, General Santos City.

The mission was facilitated by South Cotabato Union of Detailmen and Salesmen (SCUDS) and special participation of students from Wizard Academy.
